Assorted observations about StaxRip

Some things I noticed in the last couple of days while testing StaxRip:

1) x264
Only integer CRF values are allowed while x264 itself also allows fractional values like 18.5. Is there a reason for this restriction?

2) MKV
For language codes the Matroska specs require ISO-639-2 bibliographic. For example German should get the code »ger«. But StaxRip rather assigns the ISO-639-2 terminology code »deu«. MKVMerge corrects this, i.e. MKVInfo outputs »ger« for the final file, but it might be worth keeping in mind for any possible future language problems.

3) MKV
It’s not possible to set language and track name for the video track, at least I couldn’t get it to work with custom MKVMerge CLI options.

4)
The tray icon doesn’t have a tooltip, not even something simple like »StaxRip«.

Number (3) is currently preventing me from using StaxRip*. So I’d like to put this in as a feature request. GUI input for the overall movie title would also be nice but not really important since that’s easily possible by adding --title as a custom MKVMerge CLI command.

*Actually as far as I can tell it’s the only remaining show stopper. Nice work!

Hi,
thanks for the suggestions, expert features/feedback have top priority, I'll let you know once it's fixed/added.

cheers

I've added/changed and tested everything now, I hope it works well. Only 7z is available (the server rejects the exe because the server uses a borked virus scanner).
